The Juggling Act

Sometime you drop the ball.

Recently both my parents have become ill and I have become their unofficial carer which is in itself a full time job. I am now juggling caring responsibilities with a full time job and studying for my accounting exam coming up in December. These past two weeks have been overwhelming to say the least.

I can tell the quality of my work is slipping. On the plus side my parents are getting better for which I am grateful.. I really don’t think you can have it all, all of the time. I cannot give everything  100%. Even through the lows can be so very low I have learnt to persevere through the bad times, to wake up every morning and show up for myself and others .

I am learning not to be too hard on myself.  We are in a pandemic. It is important to remember that we are not working in normal times and therefore we cannot expect our normal selves. How can  we expect excellence from ourselves when our circumstances and surroundings are changed.

Sometimes good enough, is enough.
